Dr. Cathy Pike of the IU School of Social Work is elected to the CSWE National Nominating Committee

     May 8, 2008 – Dr. Cathy Pike, whose academic career spans 20 years of teaching at all levels, has been elected to the Council on Social Work Education National Nominating Committee.

     Dr. Pike, who was elected as the graduate faculty member of the committee, will serve a three-year term beginning July 1. Among its charges, the nominating committee prepares slates of nominees for officers, members of the board of directors and members of the nominating committee.

     When Dr. Pike was nominated to serve on the national committee she wrote, “Social work academic programs face many challenges and opportunities in the coming years. Some of these are documenting accountability in social work education and practice, maintaining the fiscal health of programs, and managing and securing resources.”

     The Council on Social Work is a nonprofit national association representing more than 3,000 individual members as well as graduate and undergraduate programs of professional social work education.
