History of this Website This portal for all of our five campus social work programs has been our most ambitious yet. It began when a taskforce of administrators, staff, faculty and students gathered together to brainstorm out what our emerging information needs would be in the foreseeable future. This led to an initial Mission Statement for our web needs. Through discussions with the university's Office of Communications and Marketing and their staff, we developed a "Memorandum of Understanding" that helped focus this vision. We then engaged the company, Plexcore, to help us develop our growing portal that is supported by their Plexcore Excelerator Web-Based Content Management System.
At present, we have developed our initial portal and the IUPUI component. The Bloomington and South Bend components are under construction and should be available soon. The Richmond and IU-NorthWest campus in Gary will be next.
We are also piloting a hosting program for social work education and practice organizations, including the Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD) website.
